Back when the nearby Pudu Raya bus station was the hub of Kuala Lumpur, thid air mata kuching stall was a requisite stop for travelers for a refreshing drink after a long journey. Now it is a requisite stop for tourists and locals alike to try a taste of this drink. The brown beverage is made by boiling together dried longans (mata kucing) and dried loh hon fruit.
Traditionally the beverage used to be served in a steel bowl with a metal spoon in the old days as said by one of the locale folks, but it is now served in disposable plastic cups. RM 1.20 a cup, and still the same great taste.
