Capsicum frutescens (Chili Padi, Siling Labuyo)
Chili Padi! Wow yum yum, yes you read it right...yum yum. Before i came to Kuala Lumpur i was not really too fond of spicy stuff such as chili padi or anything that goes with it... the most extreme spicy stuff i'd go was tabasco... today a meal is not complete without the spicy "Chili Padi".... i'm addicted to it.
what are this fire devils all about? Chili Padi actually is the (Bird's Eye Chili Pepper) This refers to the small size of the chili that reminds people about the small size of paddy (rice), the staple food in the region. It is also known as cabe rawit (Indonesian), phrik khii nuu (literally "mouse shit chili"), Thai Hot, Thai Dragon (due to its resemblance to claws), Siling Labuyo(Filipino).
This type of chili can be found in Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines but most commonly in Thailand. Although small in size compared to other types of chili, the chili padi is relatively strong at 50,000 to 100,000 on the Scoville pungency scale.

wow you are spicy, ;) i see the effect Kuala Lumpur food has done to you. I recon you are not Malaysian, how long have you been in KL and you are originally from where if i may ask?

when i arrived in KL i was surprised with McDonalds and KFC..instead og giving you catsup it was automatic they gave you chili sauce.. believe me that time i thought everything in KL was soo spicy to eat.. LOL :))
