KIM SOYA BEAN
Ohhhh so late to greet a Happy New Year, this is my first post for the year 2011 and, oh yes sigh itsa kinda late late late. It is mid-January already and why am i just posting now. Is it because I've found a new toy venue to express my mind real-time like FB (facebook)...dum dum want his gum gum (night at the museum),
anyway back to what i wanted to share, KIM SOYA BEAN, if you are down at KL China Town (Petaling Street to the locals) and you have the taste for a healthy drink or snack. I'd recommend one check out this stall KIM SOYA BEAN for some tau foo fah.
Stall diagonally opposite Hong Leong Bank, Jalan Petaling, Open 10am - 11pm. Closed a few days during Chinese New Year. Asking around, Kim's grandfather began the business over 50 years ago at this very spot and today Kim continues to operate here, serving tau foo fah (soy bean custard) "my favorite" and tau cheong (soy milk). The family used to make the soy bean custard in wooden barrels but modernization has seen these replaced by a steel vat.
This is the only home-made soy bean drink stall on Petaling Street and it is always crowded, however service is fast. The soy milk is thick and hearty, and is sold at RM 1.50 per cup. You can choose to sweeten your drink with sugar syrup or palm sugar syrup, the same choices are offered with the soy custard, sold at RM 1 per bowl.
coming up......(garrett's popcorn)
