Taufu Fah (VMY'07 Malaysian Desserts)

Tau fu fah is soyabean curd. It is served in either a clear, sweet syrup or a gula melaka syrup. The soyabean curd is very smooth and it slips right down your throat. This dessert can be found in vans that can be found in certain neighbourhoods which sell both soyabean milk and tau fu fah.

Taufu Fah in english is known as (silken tofu), there are other ways this nice healthy dessert is served, but the most common way it is serve is hot, some do serve it chilled but very seldom would you come across chilled taufu fah in Kuala Lumpur... if anyone knows of a place KL that sells it chilled do leave me a post on its location and I'd go an find it one of this days. So far my stay here in KL i've tried taufu fah from several places. One of those places is along the Jalan on the way to Kepong Baru...well this are the stand out places that are worth the mention, another worth place is the China Town (Petaling Street) there is this Taufu Fah stall that sell at the corner, starts around 3pm in the afternoon till late 8pm... they serve it with Black Sago Pearls, this is the only place where i've come across in KL where they add sago pearls... back in Singapore there is a shop in Potong Pasir Ave. 1 that sells chilled taufu fah in gula melaka syrup with lots of sago pearls...they pack it in plastic glasses sealed..they also have other flavors that you can choose from such as Blue Berry taufu fah, Melon, Strawberry and allot more.

In the picture MYSTIQUE features the taufu fah, right in front of Menara Pan Global in KL, dont ask me for the Jalan because i don't know either,,, this was her first time to try the healthy snack sometime in September 2006, and whenever she is in town she craves for the delicious dessert. So if ever you are get to visit Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur and by chance come across a Taufu Fah stall...best is to have a go at it, its real healthy and delicious too...warning you might just start craving for it once you've tasted it. ;)
