RESTORAN SOO KEE (Beef Hokkien Mee)
For you noodle lovers like mua, there is this one place along jalan Imbi that is a must go and must try Chinese food place. A must try mouth watering fare from the coffee shop's carte du jour is the 'beef Hokkien Mee'.
The dish is prepped with choice succulent beef, fresh leaks, kwue teow noodles (not sure on the spelling), and secret seasoning over a high pressure wok.
the noodle dish is well taken fresh from the fire, it is served with chopped fresh chilli padi and light soy sauce on the side for those who like the Malaysian tinge of the hot and spicy. A serving for 2 with a hot pot of tea is RM 18 (US$ 5) around there.
it's a must go supper place, specially after having a few brews in Bukit Bintang. What you can and not expect from this place, expect a warm greeting as you enter the place, good food, and expect to wait for a free table specially on weekends. Don't expect the menu to be in english.
don't forget for check out the memorabilia wall where you see photos of famous Hong Kong artists who have visited and ate in this place, so with locale artists. This is my first post for 2010, and before it's too late.....happy new year.
