DURIAN King of Fruits (Kepong Bharu)

Durian is said to be the King of Fruits, I certainly agree to that. Widely known and revered in Southeast Asia as the "King of Fruits", the fruit is distinctive for its large size, unique odour, and a formidable thorn-covered husk. I guess in general, the liking for Durian can be considered as an acquired taste.

I could say, that the best Durian the D24 can be found in Malaysia, for me D24 is the King of all... the fruit use to be seasonal, like twice in a year, but thanks to modern agriculture technology the fruit is virtually available the whole year round in Malaysia and Thailand, but that does not mean having the fruit available year round you get quality Durian. The best produce months are the hot dry months before the monsoon season....the best particular months to get quality Durian in KL would be the end of May to late August.

for Durian aficionados, there is a place north of the City of Kuala Lumpur where you can feast on this fruits, the place is called Kepong Bharu, its a 15 min drive from the heart of Kuala Lumpur, if you are a Durian lover then you would say that it is worth the drive. Above an array of fruits ready for a feast, for Cuti Cuti Malaysia demons this is Ver2 of the Durian escapades ;)

durian in Kepong Bharu is priced by the Kg. when it is at peak season the price ranges from US$ 2 to US$ 4 per Kg. for excellent quality D24, XO, D7 durain..... and for a durian connoisseur the price is worth the feast. For me, personally i don't mind paying the price for quality..... no point eating the 3 for RM 10 durians its not worth it.

wow....look at the succulent seeds yum yumm .... can't give an exact decription to describe the taste.... its just heaven

yesssss..... and what is just a perfect way to top up DURIAN carnage...by finishing your feast with the "Queen of Fruits" if there is the King then there should be a Queen.... yes Mangostin.. is the queen of fruits... this is the best finish, and that friends is how to feast on the King of Fruits...
