ROASTED DUCK (Kepong Bharu)
There is a place in KL that i know, they serve their Roast Duck with the skin real crispy, this is the place where i brought the Cuti Cuti Malaysia team to try the Roasted Duck that i was boasting to them about. And true enough they all agreed. The place is in Kepong Bharu, at Lorong Bangao Satu, its a shop lot that you sure wont miss right in front of the market near the old town cinema.
sorry to say but i and we dint get the name of the coffee shop, but if you really want to go there to sample the roast duck well drop me an email and ill give you detailed directions on how to get there. On this Cuti Cuti, we got there and were lucky to find out that there were birds inside the oven freshly roasting to a finish. Initially we thought that the birds were done for the day, but luckily DarkAngel went to ask, and with luck we were asked if we wanted to wait. I dont have to tell you if we did :)) the picture says it all, and what better way to wait for the birds to finish roasting.... heck well ....best way was to wait while enjoying a few bottles of pussy cats ;) yeah Tiger Beer.... well the note the expert while she pours a mug without head.
hmmmmmm.... all smiles for the new recruit DURIAN-X ...the smile says it all that she is satisfied with what she has in hand. DURIAN-X is Thai by the way..... the new member to the DarkOverlord clan....heheheh.
Uno, dos, tres ....ale ale ale...Yammmmmmm Sennnnnnnnnnng ..... kampai ne.....Tiger enjoyment to cool one down on a hot summer afternoon ;) one be not decieved with their angelic smiles :)) ..... these guys are dark and evil.
ok back to our duck.... like i said you can find lots of Duck Rice & Chicken Rice shops around Kuala Lumpur...but with the many common shops that i've tried around... none has come close yet to this shop on how they prepare their roast ducks...the skin is real crispy....lean on the meat too....well if you guys would venture to this place one of this days....you sure will remember this post...and am sure you'd agree that coming to this place is worth the trip.
p.s. according to DarkAngel, the process put into each Duck is, it is bathe or marinated in plum sauce overnight then each bird is left to dry in the sun for half a day, before it is placed into the oven for slow roasting to get the crispy finish of the bird's skin.
